Introduction
Robert P. Zahka (1930-1985) dedicated much of his life to serving St. John of Damascus Church. Bob's love and devotion to his church and the Orthodox faith were strong and unwavering. Of particular concern to Bob was the future of his church and faith. He recognized that young people held the key to this future. In 1987, his wife and family established a scholarship in his memory. This scholarship is awarded each year to that student who has most demonstrated a commitment and dedication to the church
The St. John of Damascus Community Scholarship was established in 2005 to further recognize and acknowledge those students who have excelled in the service of the Church of St. John of Damascus and the Orthodox faith.
