September 2023
Hello Church School Families,
It’s Back-to-School-Time!
We are pleased to announce that Church School classes will begin for all students in grade Preschool (age 3) through grade 10 on Sunday, September 10, 2023.
Our overarching theme will once again be “fellowship and friendship” which is so important as we grow in Orthodox Christianity! The staff are busy working on curriculum development at each grade level, and we strive to create a well-rounded, comprehensive Church School program through which your children can come to know the faith, and to know God Himself.
In order for children to benefit from our program, regular attendance at the Divine Liturgy and in class is key. The continuity provided by weekly attendance makes it possible for students to understand, appreciate and embrace their faith!
Classes begin immediately after Holy Communion. Children will be dismissed from their pews into the Communion line, and then will proceed directly to their classrooms. Adults will be ushered into the Communion line after all children and Church School staff have gone, so that we may start our program as quickly and smoothly as possible. School will be in session until noon each Sunday, at which time children will be sent into the hall area where you can meet them.
Our program cannot be carried out without your support. We rely on you to reinforce and enhance what your children learn in class. If you need any help with expressing your faith to your children, please contact Fr. John or any of us and we would be more than happy to assist you.
Please click on the link to our Church School registration form and complete it for each Church School-aged child.
We hope to see you soon!
In Christ,
Nancy Close, Church School Director
